There is nothing on the back of the Galaxy S21 + 5G other than the Samsung logo. The reason is, the fingerprint scanner is already embedded in the screen. The back is even more attractive because it is made of Gorilla Glass Victus glass material.

Looking at the front, the glass of the same quality as the back also protects the infinity-o-style screen surface. The thin-framed screen is quite large (6.7 inches). However, the Galaxy S21 + 5G is still comfortable in the hands of people.

Don't forget, this phone also holds dust and water certification (IP68). Diving at a depth of 1.5 meters to 30 minutes is not a problem. Samsung provides the Galaxy S21 + 5G in three color variants: Phantom Violet, Phantom Black, and Phantom Silver. The first color variant looks the coolest.

Performance

The high-performance chipset is built on a 5nm fabrication process. More powerful than the Exynos 990 (previous generation flagship chipset) which uses 7 nm + architecture. All matters can be handled by this one chipset.

Whether it's playing games, editing photos and videos, opening multiple applications at once, and so on. However, the power consumption is maintained. Its power efficiency is 20 percent better than its predecessor (Exynos 990).

The best processor will not be able to work optimally without the support of a fast memory. Luckily, the latest memory technology has been injected with the Galaxy S21 + 5G. The type of storage technology is UFS 3.1, which has a write speed of up to 1200 MB / second, almost three times that of UFS 3.0.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 + 5G RAM already uses LPDDR5 technology. According to Samsung, the latest technology from HP RAM is 1.5 times faster than LPDDR4X. The reason is, LPDDR5 runs at a bandwidth of 6400 Mbps, while its predecessor is stuck at 3200 Mbps.

Display

The screen resolution is Full HD + (1080 x 2400 pixels) is indeed lower than the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. However, it is not a problem even for a flagship HP. Because, according to Dedy Irvan on the Jagat Review YouTube channel, the most important thing is that the pixel density is above 300 ppi.

Meanwhile, the combination of a 2X 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution on the Galaxy S21 + 5G records a pixel density of 394. That means it is high and easy on the eye. What's more, it supports refresh rates of up to 120Hz, with a peak brightness of 1300 nits.

The color reproduction of the edge-to-edge screen is also getting closer to reality due to the infiltration of HDR10 technology. The next interesting thing about this mobile screen is its flat shape. This will make it easier for you to find tempered glass on the market.

Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy S21 + is designed to be relied on swiftly in capturing a phenomenon that will never happen twice. You don't need to hesitate to take out this cellphone and immediately take a picture or record.

There will be no jello effect even if you run. Because, there is a Super Steady stabilizer feature that keeps video recordings smooth. Also, the Single Take feature which can be relied upon in a position to capture moments spontaneously.

The next cool feature is that the three rear cameras can be active simultaneously (Director's View). This will help you choose the best angle for each cut of the moment. In fact, the front and rear cameras can even record at once (Vlogging View). A vlogger will certainly be helped in presenting more interactive content.

One more new useful feature, especially for journalists, is Multiple Mic Recording. Through this feature, users can record sound from the cellphone's internal microphone and the mic from the bluetooth headset simultaneously so you don't need to use additional devices when interviewing sources.

Other features such as portrait mode, night mode, optical zoom (1.1 times), and hybrid zoom up to 3x, support recording up to 8K resolution at 24fps, completing the reliability of the Galaxy S21 + 5G camera.

Connectivity

All hotspot signals that use the 2.4 GHz frequency can be captured by the Samsung Galaxy S21 + 5G. The latest standard, namely WiFi AC, which runs at a frequency of 5 GHz can. That way, this one cellphone is able to take advantage of speeds of up to 433 Mbps per communication line it has.

It doesn't stop there, future standardization, WiFi 6, is supported too. WiFi 6 speed is reportedly only 37 percent higher than the previous generation. However, this technology has a stability level four times better than WiFi 5, especially when used in high density areas.

Operating System

One of the things that makes the bargaining power of Android phones still less than Apple's iPhone is the short operating system upgrade support. Generally, all manufacturers will only provide operating system updates for two years (two upgrades), plus security patch updates in the third year.

However, in 2020, Samsung is changing its strategy. They promised to upgrade the operating system for three years (three times the increase). So, the Galaxy S21 + 5G, which is now equipped with Android 11, is believed to be able to be upgraded to Android 14. That way, you can use the Galaxy S21 + 5G as a mainstay for a longer time.

Battery Life

The 4800 mAh size is enough to make the Galaxy S21 + 5G turn on all day long. TechDroider's YouTube channel also tests its endurance in a wide variety of activities. Like to play heavy games, stream videos, browse via Google Chrome, and record videos.

The resulting time record is quite impressive. The Galaxy S21 + 5G battery can last 9 hours 6 minutes. That duration is longer than its predecessor, the Galaxy S20 +, which only recorded a time of 8 hours 7 minutes. In addition to the good battery life, the Galaxy S21 + 5G is also equipped with 25 W charging technology.

Charging wirelessly is also quite fast because the output is 15 watts. As for the emergency, the Galaxy S21 + 5G can be used as an impromptu power bank. Because, it supports 4.5W reverse charging.

Ultra Wide Band

Do you often forget to put small valuables, such as car keys? If so, now you don't have to worry too much. The reason is, Samsung provides a solution with Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology that is embedded in the Galaxy S21 + 5G.

This feature works on radio wave connections such as WiFi and Bluetooth, but has been further improved. The way it works is by looping the Galaxy SmartTag hanger around something. The hanger will emit waves that the Galaxy S21 + 5G can pick up on.

You will also find the precise location of the item you are looking for. Samsung claims that the Galaxy SmartTag can reach a radius of 120 meters.

Dual GPS

The Galaxy S21 + 5G is one step ahead with WiFi 6 support, which is currently unpopular. The essential technology that should be embedded for flagship cellphones also exists. The technology is dual-band GPS, aka two-frequency GPS.

Related:

This technology is increasingly important because conventional GPS navigation is less accurate, because it cannot display detailed locations within 5 meters. In fact, now there are more and more applications that require high location accuracy. Some games based on Augmented Reality, such as Pokemon Go, also need this technology.

NFC Connection

Samsung is one of those manufacturers that is one step ahead of looking at the technology of the future. Like NFC (Near Field Communication) which has been given by default in the Galaxy S series since 2012, when the Galaxy S3 launched.

Now NFC technology is increasingly being used in various ways. Such as non-physical payments on toll roads, replacement tickets on MRT trains, or apartment security keys. This technology is still embedded in the Samsung Galaxy S21 + 5G.

Verdict

This is a brief explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of the Samsung Galaxy S21 + 5G. As a flagship phone with a fantastic price, this phone tries to bring the best capabilities in various aspects to accommodate various activities. Therefore, there are things that have changed from the previous generation, there are also sides that have been preserved.
