When Samsung released its latest flagship variant, the Galaxy Note20 series, some time later, the increase it brought was not just its productivity expertise. Samsung has also participated in overhauling the design, improving camera expertise and performance. Making this one flagship suitable for various types of needs, both work and entertainment.
Both appear in quite different specifications, unlike the Galaxy Note 10 & Galaxy Note10 + series which are still relatively identical. But Samsung has improved its basic variant with a much bigger screen and battery, so that it can more optimally fulfill daily needs. Superior Display with 120Hz Refresh Rate
Samsung itself has used the Infinity-O Display screen design on the Galaxy Note10 series, also uses an AMOLED panel and supports HDR10 + content for optimal entertainment needs. On the Galaxy Note20 series, the difference in screen size is almost uniform, aka not far apart.
If the Galaxy Note20 has a flat screen measuring 6.7 inches, the Galaxy Note20 Ultra appears with a larger screen that is 6.9 inches, with a 3D curved display and a large refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The large refresh rate makes the content displayed on the screen appear smoother when scrolled up and down, with a better level of responsiveness.
Timeless Design
Samsung took a different approach in redesigning the design of the Galaxy Note20 series. If the previous generation appeared with a more striking pattern variant, the Galaxy Note20 appeared with a more muted or neutral color option. Samsung calls it “timeless design”, although it's simpler, it always seems premium.
The Mystic Bronze pattern option in both variants makes it look more elegant. Samsung decided to use polycarbonate material on the Galaxy Note20. Meanwhile, for the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, the screen protection is enhanced, using Gorilla Glass Victus (from Gorilla Glass 6 on the Galaxy Note10 series) which is claimed to be resistant to damage even though it falls from a height of 2 m.
The camera material design is also made different for the two variants. If the Galaxy Note10 & Galaxy Note10 + have a uniform camera material, the Galaxy Note20 Ultra is much more visible, considering that the sensor it has has a larger body size.
Large Resolution Camera Up To 8K Video Recording
The Samsung Galaxy Note10 series camera was indeed listed as one of the best of its time. Both have a uniform camera setup, complete with a telephoto 3x optical zoom sensor and video recording expertise up to 4K 60fps. On the Galaxy Note20 series, both the main, ultra-wide and telephoto camera sensor specifications have been significantly improved.
The Samsung Galaxy Note20 carries a camera setup equivalent to the Galaxy S20 +, with a large 64MP sensor to produce 3x hybrid optical zoom with 30x optimal magnification. The Note20 Ultra is even more powerful, carrying a 108MP main sensor which has been enhanced with a laser auto focus system, and a 50x hybrid zoom periscope telephoto sensor.
Both are capable of recording video up to 8K 24fps resolution. Recording in this fashion can be used for various needs, such as cropping that does not want to reduce the quality, or taking photos per frame up to 33MP resolution. Great Productivity with S Pen & Wireless DeX
Although the size of the S Pen stylus on the Galaxy Note20 series is exactly the same as the previous generation, its functionality and responsiveness have been improved. The Galaxy Note10 series has 42ms latency which is actually quite safe to use. But on the Galaxy Note20, the time interval was successfully reduced to 26ms.
Samsung combines artificial intelligence and machine learning, able to predict the direction of the stylus used by its users for better responsiveness. Combined with the large refresh rate on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, latency can be reduced to just 9ms. That way, taking notes via the smartphone screen will feel responsive like on physical paper.
