Review of Samsung Galaxy S10 |
1. Design
Samsung Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone has a Dynamic AMOLED screen of 6.1 inches and a resolution of 1440 x 3040 pixels. This flagship smartphone is present almost bezel-less at the top and bottom of the device. It was designed to achieve a 93.1 percent broad screen ratio. The Samsung Galaxy S10 screen has curved edges for better screen visibility and has HDR10 + support for superior contrast and color.
Not only that, this smartphone is identical to the iconic Infinity-O screen design on the upper right side of the screen which is used as a front camera and is equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protector.
The weight of the Samsung Galaxy S10 itself recorded 157 grams with dimensions of 149.9 x 70.4 x 7.8 mm and wrapped with a black glass body (Gorilla Glass 5) and aluminum frame. If without the default silicon casing owned by Samsung Galaxy S10, the body of the device is slippery enough to be held.
2. Performance
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is equipped with an Exynos 9820 processor and runs the Android 9 operating system. This device has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage with support for up to 512 GB of external memory. Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy S10's battery is only 3,400 mAh. Battery life did not match expectations, considering this is the latest flagship smartphone from Samsung. In addition, even though it has been equipped with Fast Wireless Charging 15 W, charging is fairly slow. The Samsung Galaxy S10's battery takes an hour to reach 77 percent and takes about one and a half hours to reach 100 percent.
3. Camera
Samsung Galaxy S10 is equipped with triple cameras with dual OIS, each of which has a resolution of 12 MP with f / 2.4 aperture for telephoto, 12 MP with f / 1.5 / f / 2.4 aperture for wide-angle, and 16 MP with f / 2.2 aperture for ultra wide. Modes that can be found in the Samsung Galaxy S10 camera include, Food, Night, Panorama, Pro, Live Focus, Photos, Videos, Super Slow Motion, Slow Motion, and Hyperlapse.
On the video side, Samsung's software seems to have been upgraded to record with Digital Video Stabilization offerings. Meanwhile, the front camera of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is equipped with a 16 MP resolution lens with f / 1.9 aperture.
4. Wireless PowerShare
Wireless PowerShare is a new feature that is presented in the Samsung Galaxy S10. The Wireless PowerShare feature can be activated via the UI home shortcut. This feature allows users to share battery power with fellow Samsung Galaxy S10 users, to Samsung devices that have been provided with similar features such as Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch Active, to non-Samsung devices that have similar features.
Connectivity with Samsung Galaxy Watch Active
Using the help of the Galaxy Wearable application (Samsung Gear), smartphones can be connected directly with the Galaxy Watch Active device. Galaxy Active Watch is the latest smartwatch from Samsung that can support the fitness of its users. Both devices can be connected via Bluetooth and users can use Galaxy Watch Active without having to open the application from a smartphone. Besides having a heart rate detection feature and counting foot steps, Galaxy Watch Active also has a feature where users can control daily stress levels.
